Information that we collect

Cookies

Like many websites, we use “cookies” to collect information. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer’s hard disk for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies to enable certain features of the Site, to better understand how you interact with the Site and to monitor aggregate usage by MeetYourBarista Users and web traffic routing on the Site. You can instruct your browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. If you do not accept cookies, however, you may not be able to use all portions of the Site or all functionality of the Service.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.  When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.  If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited.

Non-Personal Information

When users come to our Site, we may track, collect and aggregate Non-Personal Information indicating, among other things, which pages of our Site were visited, the order in which they were visited, when they were visited, the time spent on those pages, information you search for on our Site, access times and dates, and which hyperlinks were “clicked.” We also collect information from the URLs from which you linked to our Site. Collecting such information may involve logging the IP address, operating system and browser software used by each user of the Site. Although such information is not Personally Identifiable Information, we may be able to determine from an IP address a user’s Internet Service Provider and the geographic location of his or her point of connectivity. In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze this type of information in order to increase our Site’s functionality and user-friendliness, to better tailor it to our visitors’ needs, and to detect suspicious activity.  We also use or may use cookies to help us determine and identify repeat visitors, the type of content and sites to which a user of our Site links, the length of time each user spends at any particular area of our Site, and the specific functionalities that users choose to use.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. Both our staff and third-parties are obligated to keep your information safe and private.  If you submit a job application for a job on our site that is located outside of the EEA we will disclose your information to the advertiser of the job. This could be a job in USA, Australia, Canada etc. Advertisers are either Recruitment Agencies or Companies.  Advertisers sign MeetYourBarista’s Terms and Conditions of Business agreeing to process your personal information lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner following applicable data protection law.

Your rights regarding your information

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
